I’ve spent 26 years understanding how money and business actually work - not in theory, but from the inside.
I qualified as a Chartered Accountant and have since worked as a Finance Director and Managing Director, built businesses of my own, scaled businesses and exited them.
I’ve been responsible for the numbers when the numbers were good and when they weren’t. I've built things and then rebuilt them. I’ve made decisions I was proud of and decisions I wasn’t. I’ve experienced success, and I’ve experienced the kind of failure that teaches you more than the success ever did.
Somewhere along the way, I started noticing something the accounts couldn’t explain.
Capable, intelligent people - including me at various points - making the same self-defeating financial decisions again and again, in full knowledge that they were self-defeating.
Undercharging while knowing exactly what they were worth. Spending in ways that undid months of good work in days. Avoiding the ask, the price rise, the visibility despite having all the skill and experience to do it.
That question took me somewhere I didn’t expect.
I trained formally in therapeutic and behaviour-change approaches, alongside years of study into identity, beliefs and behaviour, because I wanted to understand the mechanism, not just describe the symptom.
What I found was how much of our money behaviour has very little to do with the numbers.
It's shaped by what money came to mean to you, what you learned you were allowed to have, and what you came to believe about yourself along the way.
That’s the intersection I work in now: hard financial and business experience on one side; identity, behaviour and perspective on the other.
Most conversations about money separate the numbers from the person making the decisions. I don’t think they can be separated for long.
Strategy and numbers. Psychology and perspective. Clarity and confidence. All of it connected.

A good life doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built.
But building it isn’t simply about making more money. It’s about understanding what money means to you, the choices you make with it, and whether those choices are actually taking you towards the life you want.
The business isn’t the point. The career isn’t the point. Money isn’t the point either. They’re the means.
The point is having the freedom to choose how you spend your time, who you spend it with, what you build, what you walk away from, and what your life actually looks like.
Sometimes creating that freedom means changing far more than the numbers.
My work is underpinned by two frameworks I’ve developed: The Freedom Compass and GET REAL.

The Freedom Compass
Receive · Expend · Accumulate · Let Go
The Freedom Compass looks at the four movements in our relationship with money: what we allow ourselves to receive, how we expend it, what we’re able to accumulate, and what we can let go of when something has run its course.

GET REAL
Recognise · Explore · Align · Live
GET REAL is the process for changing what you find: recognise what’s actually happening, explore where it came from, align with what you genuinely want instead, and live it.
Insight on its own is interesting. Insight that changes how you actually live is the entire point.

Whether we’re talking about your money, your business, your career or your next chapter, I’m usually asking the same questions.
What are you really trying to create?
What’s getting in the way?
What are you making this mean about you?
What would you choose if you weren’t choosing from fear, expectation or habit?
And what needs to change to make that choice possible?
That’s the work, whichever door you came in through.
i mentor founders, professionals and executives who are ready to look honestly at the relationship between their money, their identity and the life they’re building.
You don't need to be bad with money. You don't need to be in crisis. And you certainly don' need to arrive with a perfectly articulated problem.
You might be successful and wondering why it still doesn’t feel secure. You might be at a crossroads in your business or career. You might know something needs to change but have no idea what yet. Or you might simply have reached a point where the life you’ve built doesn’t quite fit the person you’ve become.
What matters is that you’re willing to look properly at what’s going on and do something with what we find.
You get to build a life that’s yours.
And if you’re going to build it, you may as well build it properly.
Most of what I do now is mentoring, one person at a time, on the real and specific thing that’s stuck.
If there's something you've been going round in circles with for long enough, bring it.
